New BMW i4 eDrive35 EV coming to the US in 2023

BMW’s new BMW i4 eDrive35 joins the i4 eDrive40 and i4 M50 as a more affordable model in the automaker’s electric sedan lineup. US deliveries are expected to start in the first quarter of 2023 with a starting base price of $51,400 plus $995 destination and handling.

The eDrive35 is identical to the eDrive40, except that it offers smaller performance specs and a lower price tag. Same design, same Gen5 eDrive powertrain technology, same standard and optional features.

The eDrive35 sports a single electrically-excited synchronous motor that sends 281 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels, delivering an estimated 0-60 mph time of 5.8 seconds. The battery pack has a capacity of 70.2 kWh (66 kWh usable). When fitted with the standard 18-inch aero wheels, the eDrive35 is expected to deliver an EPA range of about 260 miles. Standard DC fast charging offers a maximum rate of 180 kW.
