Here’s why Bloomberg thinks Volkswagen’s EV sales will overtake Tesla’s by 2024

According to a comprehensive report published this morning by research firm Bloomberg Intelligence, Tesla will hold its global crown for EV sales for the next 18 months but will then be usurped by Volkswagen electric vehicles. The full BEV outlook report predicts that many legacy automakers will lag in sales through 2025, but Volkswagen is on track to overtake Tesla’s production volume by 2024.

Say what?! Walmart has full-suspension mid-drive electric bikes now?

Walmart has long offered an interesting array of low-cost electric bicycles. Some of the bikes have even dipped down into ultra-budget territory with prices below $400. It can be a good option for those that want the utility of an electric bicycle but don’t have a lot of spare cash. But while Walmart is known for its super cheap e-bikes, the company has never offered higher-end e-bikes with nicer features like mid-drive motors. At least, not until now with the launch of Kent’s new mid-drive electric bike.

LG invests $450 million in producing Tesla’s 4680 battery cell format

LG announced that it is investing $450 million into producing 4680 battery cells, a format pioneered by Tesla.

While the Korean battery manufacturer didn’t confirm that the new cells will be for Tesla, it is extremely likely.

VinFast announces over fifty upcoming stores spread throughout Europe

During EVS35 in Olso, Vietnamese EV automaker VinFast outlined its plans for expansion overseas, alongside the European debut of its VF 8 and VF 9 EVs. During the presentation, VinFast shared intentions to open at least fifty stores spread throughout Europe in countries like Germany, France, and the Netherlands to start. Additionally, VinFast shared new sales policies exclusive to those European markets.
