Norwegian wholesaler ASKO will deploy two Scania electric trucks in Oslo as part of a pilot project. Each of the two-speed, 27-ton trucks has a battery capacity of 165 kWh and range of 120 km (75 miles). The 290 kW electric powertrain offers 245 kW of continuous output and 2,200 Nm of torque. The vehicles are charged using a 150 kW DC charger.
Enova, a state enterprise owned by the Ministry
of Climate and Environment in Norway, provided financial support for the pilot
project.
Karin Rådström, Head of Sales and Marketing at Scania, said, “It is as important as ever to work with customers on development to understand the impact on the customers’ full operations, not only making sure that a technical solution works and the electricity that charges the batteries is sourced from renewable energy.”
